In 2010 it became a Confucius Classroom hub school for Mandarin teaching and was one of the first schools in the country to join the government's Mandarin Excellence Programme — no small commitment for a state grammar in southeast London. Your son first needs to be deemed selective in the Bexley 11+ Selection Test, run by Bexley LA. Being selective does not guarantee a place. What happens if my child is ill on 11+ test day at Beths Grammar School?

If your son is unwell on the test day, do not send him to the test. Tell the head of his primary school, and Bexley LA will arrange a later sitting, telling you the date and venue in advance. A medical certificate or other evidence will be needed, and only illness or serious personal circumstances are accepted.
